Summer is quickly approaching and the Notre Dame Club is preparing to host UND students in their Summer Service Learning Projects. This summer, the Boston Club and Lawrence Alum are hoping to place students in sites in Lawrence, Dorchester, and Easton. During an eight week program, the students will engage in direct service with local agencies, examine social issues and provide an academic reflection on their experience.
We will be learning more about these students over the coming weeks. For our non-local students, we will be looking for housing. UND's Center for Social Concerns encourages placing the students with local area families who are willing to share an extra room in their home and thereby provide a comfortable and supportive environment. The ND club will provide a minimal subsidy for expenses incurred by the students such as those for food, transportation, etc. Please consider this opportunity to help promote a student's interest in social issues and community involvement. If you think that you may be able to help, please contact Linda Douglas at (617) 434-3870 or

If you are unable to help with housing but would like to help with this program in any other way (ex. take a student to the beach, Sox game, cookout, dinner), please contact us at the info above. Thanks in advance for your support of this program which benefits our current students as well as our local communities. |
